Rambagh Palace Jaipur
- Bhawani Singh Rd, Rambagh, Jaipur, Rajasthan 302015
Rambagh Palace is a 78 room heritage hotel on 47 acres in central Jaipur, about 11 km from Jaipur International Airport. Built in 1835 and later the principal residence of Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II, it’s been run by Taj Hotels since 1972 and is widely known as the “Jewel of Jaipur.” Its eight event spaces range from the 400 guest Maharaja Mahal to the intimate 70 guest Mughal Terrace, making it one of Jaipur’s most storied full buyout wedding venues.
ABOUT THE RAMBAGH PALACE JAIPUR
A Royal Family Residence Reimagined on Nine Acres
Rambagh Palace didn’t start out grand. In 1835 it was a modest garden house built for a queen’s handmaiden, a footnote sized beginning for what would become, by the early 20th century, the principal residence of Jaipur’s ruling family. Architect Sir Samuel Swinton Jacob expanded it into the Indo-Saracenic palace that stands today, and after India’s independence the Maharaja himself converted it into the country’s first luxury palace hotel. Taj Hotels has run it since 1972, preserving the original architecture rather than replacing it.
That layered history is what gives Rambagh its particular weight among Jaipur’s wedding venues. The pink sandstone facades, marble corridors and frescoed ceilings aren’t a hospitality industry recreation of royal Rajasthan, they’re the actual rooms a maharaja lived in. Set across 47 acres of jasmine scented gardens, with peacocks genuinely roaming the lawns, it offers a version of “royal wedding” that very few properties anywhere can claim honestly.

Rooms & Suites at The Rambagh Palace Jaipur
Rambagh’s 78 rooms and suites span five categories: Palace Rooms, Historical Suites, Royal Suites, Grand Royal Suites and Speciality Suites. Each category carries its own distinct character rather than a uniform hotel brand look, the site’s own cost guide describes the Speciality Suites in particular as spaces where “heritage is not displayed around but felt to the core.” Given the genuinely limited 78 room inventory, most large weddings pair Rambagh with a second Jaipur hotel for overflow accommodation, using the palace primarily for the ceremony and key functions.
