Nishita Aggarwal is co-founder of The Event Designer, a luxury destination wedding planning and design company working with Indian and NRI families. About Nishita
Nishita studied at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) before co-founding The Event Designer with Sahil Sachdeva. That training in fashion and design still shows in how she approaches a wedding: as a series of rooms, colours, textures and moments that need to feel considered from the first welcome to the final farewell.
Her work begins with listening. Before any mood board, she wants to understand the family: the ceremonies that matter most, the heritage they want to honour, and how they want their guests to feel. From there she develops the creative direction for each function, from décor and floral design to lighting, styling and the small personal touches that make a celebration recognisably theirs.
Nishita also shapes the guest experience. She thinks about how guests arrive, where they gather, what they see first and how one event flows into the next, so that design and hospitality work together rather than side by side.
She takes a personal interest in the places where celebrations happen and often visits venues and new destinations herself before recommending them. She also oversees how The Event Designer presents its work, including portfolio curation and press.
Design and Guest Experience
Nishita oversees every visual and sensory touchpoint of an event. Her design team develops cohesive visual narratives across consecutive days of celebrations:
- Concept Development: Bespoke color stories, architectural sketches, 3D spatial renders, and theme narratives tailored to family heritage.
- Floral & Décor Architecture: Sourcing rare florals, statement mandap architecture, sculpted stage installations, and ambient lighting scapes.
- Sensory Guest Flow: Curating guest arrival journeys, welcome lounges, experiential fragrance profiles, and tactile bespoke stationery.
- Fashion & Styling Direction: Harmonizing couple couture palettes with event scenography for effortless photographic elegance.
Working With Families
Her approach is collaborative. Families are involved in every design decision, and she works closely with Sahil so that each creative idea sits within a venue, budget and schedule that will hold on the day.
